Collection: Delores Mixon Smiley, Ed.D.

Dr. Delores M. Smiley retired as Executive Director for Diversity and Cultural Affairs at the Abraham S. Fischler School of Education at Nova Southeastern University.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree from Western Michigan University and a Doctor of Education degree from Nova Southeastern University’s School of Education. In addition to the regular expectations for this office, she wrote a master’s degree program in Instructional Design and Diversity Affairs that was launched in 2008 and a Diversity Plan for NSU’s School of Education Spring 2011.  She led cultural affairs in developing various celebratory, education and training programs for the School of Education.

Smiley serves on many different internal and external committees and has been the recipient of many awards recognizing her contributions to education, leadership and diversity.
