Benjamin B. Cowins, Sr., Ph.D. is a semi-retired public school educator. He is the co-founder and Vice President of the Ralph Hogges, Benjamin Cowins and Delores Smiley's Writers Group of South Florida. Ben is the author or co-author of six books. He believes in encouraging potential writers to join "The Writer's group" and to write, write, and write.

This author is an alumnus of FAMU, Barry University and the University of Oklahoma. He is married to Harriet Blackshear-Cowins, the father of three children and the grandfather of three children. Cowins is also a United States military combat veteran of Vietnam, a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and a member of the Miami Gardens, Florida's AME Church.
